Unitil Scholarship Fund

Eligibility: The applicant must reside (primary address) and attend a school located in one of the cities/towns in Unitil service territories. Location eligibility can be verified at www.unitil.com/MEterritory. The applicant must also be enrolled in a degree program with a declared major or concentration in science, technology, engineering, or math.

Scholarship Amount: $5,000

How is this Awarded: The Unitil Scholarship Committee will base its decision for awarding scholarships on a combination of factors including academic merit, financial need, other scholarships awarded, outside student activities and other relevant factors such as the number of hours worked outside of class during the school year. Students must be pursuing a major in science, technology, engineering, or math.

The application and additional information can be found on the Unitil website.

The following items are must accompany the application:

a) An official transcript of undergraduate grades.
b) A letter of recommendation from a science, technology, engineering, or math teacher, or high school principal, which also includes verification of major field of study, and the expected date of graduation.
c) An essay by applicant addressing career objectives, why he/she is applying for the scholarship and why he/she merits the scholarship above all others.

Deadline Description: The completed application form and the following accompanying materials must be signed by the applicant and submitted to the Unitil Scholarship Committee, with a postmark on or before March 15, 2019. Applicants may also apply via email (community@unitil.com) on or before the above deadline.
