Education Coordinator

FAME is seeking knowledgeable, driven and compassionate individuals to become part of the Education Team as an Education Coordinator. The primary responsibilities of this position include: triaging customer inquiries to determine their higher education access needs; delivering information about financial aid processes, FAME’s higher education access programs, services, and financing opportunities.  This individual is also responsible for assisting in the assessment, evaluation and processing of FAME’s higher education access programs and financing opportunities such as the Maine Loan.

The successful candidate will meet the following minimum education, experience and work requirements:

  • Minimum two-year college degree in liberal arts, social sciences, education, business or related field (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience).  
  • Minimum of two (2) years related work experience in financial aid, higher education access, and/or private education loan lending or servicing preferred.  
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal relations. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer, time management and problem-solving skills are required.  
  • Superior organizational skills Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment are required.
  • Must possess a positive, achievement-oriented attitude to build strong relationships with all students, families, partners, vendors and staff.
  • Motivated, self-starter with proven team building skills.
  • Experience working with students of all ages and their families desirable.

Senior Commercial Loan Officer

FAME is seeking knowledgeable, driven and compassionate individual to become part of the Business Team as our Senior Commercial Loan Officer. The primary responsibilities of this position include: Overseeing business lending functions of the Business Division including management and supervision of the commercial loan officers. Assists in the development and implementation of new programs and assists in the development and promotion of new and existing products and services.  Serves as the senior relationship manager for FAME’s commercial lending customers and agency partners.  This role is the senior contact point for commercial lending customers, agency, and other partners, regarding potential credit requests to determine compliance with program parameters and credit policy.  Works directly with the Director of Business and the CEO to accomplish the Authority’s overall mission.

The successful candidate will meet the following minimum education, experience and work requirements:

  1. Four (4) year college required; preferably in business; background in management and finance plus specialized training in commercial lending (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience).
  2. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in related field.
  3. Strong management skills, with experience in managing a team of commercial loan officers
  4. Strong Analytical skills.
  5. Strong customer relationship management skills.
  6. Thorough knowledge of lending policies and procedures.

Director of Strategic Growth

The primary responsibilities of this position include: Lead the development of innovative financial capital strategies to meet the needs of Maine people, businesses and its economy in conjunction with FAME’s Board of Directors, senior leadership team and staff, as well as our partner authorities and organizations. Manager of Accounting and Finance

FAME is seeking knowledgeable, driven and compassionate individual to become part of the Finance Team as our Manager of Accounting and Finance. The primary responsibilities of this position include: Managing the accounting and financial functions of the organization and any affiliates under the direction of the Director of Finance.  This involves working with all divisions to accomplish the objectives of the organization and any affiliates. Assists the Director in administering all accounting functions for the Authority including maintaining the general ledger, accounts receivable system, accounts payable system, payroll system, and subsidiary reconciliation for the organization and any affiliates.

Deputy General Counsel

FAME is seeking knowledgeable, driven and compassionate individual to become part of the Legal Team as our Deputy General Counsel. The primary responsibilities of this position include: Assists the General Counsel in the development of effective and comprehensive legal policies and programs and in the monitoring of the Authority’s compliance with applicable legal requirements. This role has primary responsibility for legal oversight and guidance related to FAME’s Maine Education Savings Program (NextGen 529). Provides legal review and comments on loan requests and loan documentation. Assists General Counsel to provide legal support on matters affecting each of FAME’s Departments and overall operations. May assist with personnel matters and  provides counsel to and represents outside Boards and State agencies in general matters, loan review, documentation and collection, pursuant to FAME contracts to provide such services.

  1. Law degree required in addition to continuing education.
  2. Maine Bar admission.
  3. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years in related legal experience.  Experience with securities law preferred.
