Marketing Communications Officer

FAME is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to become part of the Marketing Team as a Marketing Communications Officer. The primary responsibilities of this position include:  manages the marketing activities and programs for FAME. Develops and implements marketing plans to meet business objectives. The Marketing Communications Officer selects and manages ongoing relationships with outside marketing vendors. Additionally, Marketing Communication Officer creates the budget and oversees media, advertising, events and promotions. The Marketing Communications Officer ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets. This individual has extensive knowledge of department processes. Marketing Communications Officer stays abreast of changes in the marketing environment and coordinates market research projects.

This position is a full time 2—year project role with benefits.

The successful candidate will meet the following minimum education, experience and work requirements:

  • Four (4) year degree in marketing, business or related field is required (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience), plus demonstrated successful project management.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related work experience.
  • Effective skills in interpersonal relations, oral and written communication, and presentation skills. Excellent skills in creative writing, proofreading, copy editing.
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet organizational core values. Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all departments.
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing and public relations, as well as customer and market research. Ability to implement new and innovative marketing strategies.

NextGen College Savings Counselor

FAME is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to become part of the Education Team as a NextGen College Savings Counselor. The primary responsibilities of this position include:  participating in the development, delivery and evaluation of FAME’s efforts to educate Maine people about the Maine Education Savings Program, aka NextGen 529 (“NextGen”), specifically, but not limited to, parents or guardians of children who are Alfond Grant eligible. Focus will be on education of Alfond Grants and Maine Matching Grants, developing and delivering programming that encourages an understanding of education savings, education aspirations, and financial education/return on investment for education after high school, with the goal of increasing NextGen account openings and contributions

  • Four (4) year degree in business, social sciences, education, marketing, or related field is required (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience).

Digital Marketing Specialist

FAME is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to become part of the Marketing Team as a Digital Marketing Specialist. The primary responsibilities of this position include:  Being adept at social media production, website development, and all facets of digital marketing. This person acts as a Webmaster for FAME websites, and coordinates with all online applications, social media, and email services. Ensures implementation of digital marketing strategies are in line with strategic goals and for online presence. Analyzes statistics and helps identify best practices to optimize online presence and marketing performance. Leads the development of online tools, usability of digital content and exploration of digital channels. As a capable project manager, this individual is also responsible for the execution of all assigned marketing, advertising and promotional activities, including web, social media, event, print, and networking activities of any assigned projects. Acts as in-house writer, editor and/or proofreader as needed. Acts as a key brand steward.

  • Four (4) year college degree required, preferably in communications, marketing, business or related field (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience) is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience in marketing. Digital marketing certification preferred. In addition, experience in digital marketing, project management, Web editing (WordPress Gutenberg), PowerPoint, word processing and spreadsheet software a must.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including professional level creative copy writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Graphic design skills a plus, but ability to manage designers to meet brand standards and ability to work with template designs required otherwise.
  • Strong computer skills with significant experience in the application of digital media tools (such as Word Press, social media channels, email platforms – Constant Contact, HubSpot) and analysis (Google Analytics), Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and fundamental text editing capability in Adobe Creative Suite programs (Acrobat, InDesign). Continuously maintains up to date digital and social media marketing skills (website design, user experience, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn).
  • Highly organized, motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently and well on a team.

Customer Service Associate II

FAME is seeking a knowledgeable, driven and compassionate individual to become part of the Education Team as a Customer Service Associate II. The primary responsibilities of this position include: triaging customer inquiries to determine their higher education access needs; delivering information about financial aid processes, FAME’s higher education access programs, services, and financing opportunities.  This individual is also responsible for assisting in the assessment, evaluation and processing of FAME’s higher education access programs and financing opportunities such as the Maine Loan.

  • Minimum two-year college degree in liberal arts, social sciences, education, business or related field (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience).
  • Minimum of two (2) years related work experience in financial aid, higher education access, and/or private education loan lending or servicing preferred.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal relations. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
