UMaine Pulp & Paper Foundation Scholarship for Engineering Majors (First Year Students)

Eligibility: Entering first year UMaine engineering student (current high school seniors).

Scholarship Amount: Full UMaine tuition or $8,500 per year

How is this Awarded: Complete an online application form, submit high school transcripts and college admissions test scores (SAT preferred). In addition students write a letter to the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee describing how they have become familiar with the technology and careers in the pulp and paper industry and how they will continue to pursue these opportunities during their course of study at UMaine.

First Year Student Scholarship Application

Please click the link above to begin the application process for a First Year Student Scholarship. After completing the registration information through Eventbrite please email the required documents listed below (letter, transcript, SAT scores) and the Scholarship Brochure to jennifer.b.ireland@maine.edu

1. A letter to the UMaine Pulp & Paper Foundation Scholarship Committee indicating how you have/or will become familiar with the technology and career opportunities of the pulp and paper industry. You may also include in your letter other information which you believe would be helpful to your request to be granted a scholarship.

Scholarship award decisions for all students are made following an interview with representatives from the UMaine Pulp & Paper Foundation Scholarship Committee and approved by the Foundation’s President.

2. A transcript from your school, at least through the end of your junior year (grade 11). This transcript must include your name, your school’s name and address and your grades for your Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years.

3. Your SAT results.
