Portland Rossini Club Scholarships

Scholarship competition for College Music Majors in three categories – instrumental, piano, and vocal. There are three scholarships:
• Emily K. Rand Instrumental Scholarship
• Lucia A. Wright Piano Scholarship
• Barbara C. Littlefield Vocal Scholarship

Open to Maine residents above the age of 17 who are registered as music majors at an accredited music school, college, or university. Previous first-place winners of the scholarships may not apply.
Scholarship Amount: Scholarships range from $800 to $1,200
Application Process:

Applications are due January 1st of each year and completed application packets must be postmarked by the specified deadline date, typically in the spring. Applicants will be ineligible to compete if application packet is incomplete. Special scheduling requests must be submitted in writing and will be honored if possible.

Applicants will perform at least two compositions representing two different musical periods (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and/or 20th/21st Century). The total performance should be at least ten minutes and is not to exceed fifteen minutes. Applicants must provide their own accompanist. Vocalists must perform entirely by memory; pianists and instrumentalists must perform at least one selection from memory. One published edition of the music must be provided for the panel of judges.
