Eligibility: Each year MPRC awards a minimum of one $1,000 scholarship and a maximum of three $1,000 scholarships to students attending an accredited Maine college or university. The monetary award will be made directly to the institution on behalf of the student by name and is to be applied to that student's tuition costs the following year. Students not receiving a scholarship are encouraged to reapply next year.
Eligible applicants will be college students (freshmen, sophomores, or juniors) attending an accredited Maine college or university and majoring in public relations, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, or advertising. Students must hold at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in major subjects at the time of application.

For application form and instructions, please visit the Maine Public Relations Council website. In addition to completing the application, the submission requires two faculty references, two faculty letters of recommendation, and an essay of no more than 500 words.

How is this Awarded? Applications are judged by a panel of MPRC members. Essays will be rated based on the following criteria: professional goals and aspirations; financial need; work/volunteer experience in the communications field; grammar and punctuation; and persuasive writing techniques. One of the three awards, The Arthur J. Marcoux Scholarship, recognizes the community service performed by applicants.
