Maine Public Relations Council Scholarships
The Arthur J. Marcoux Scholarship was announced by the Maine Public Relations Council Board in October, 2017, in memory of the late Arthur J. Marcoux, a long-time member of the MPRC community. In recognition of outstanding contributions to community service and academic achievement, this $1,000 scholarship is presented annually to a graduating high school senior accepted in a communications-related course of study at an accredited Maine college or university.
Two $1000 Maine Public Relations Council Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors interested in pursuing a career in a communications-related field of study and enrolled at an accredited Maine college or university. These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement, career aspirations, and relevant course, volunteer, or work experience in a communications-related field.
Scholarship applications will be judged on criteria pertaining to career goals, financial need, any correlated work and volunteer experience, as well as overall professionalism. Successful applicants should also provide insight into their character and strengths.
Submissions must include two references and two letters of recommendation, as well as a 500-word student essay highlighting professional aspirations and scholarship need. All required materials must be submitted for an application to be complete. Only completed applications will be considered. A single application is sufficient for all three awards.
