Open to graduating high school seniors interested in pursuing a communications-related field and accepted to attend an accredited Maine college or university, and to college students currently enrolled in such a program and continuing their college education. Applicants must plan to pursue a major in an accredited communications program including public relations, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, advertising, or related communications areas. Eligible students must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application. These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement, career aspirations, and relevant course, volunteer, or work experience in a communications-related field.
Scholarship Amount: Three $1,000 scholarships
Application Process:
Scholarship applications will be judged on criteria pertaining to career goals, financial need, any correlated work and volunteer experience, as well as overall professionalism. Successful applicants should also provide insight into their character and strengths.
Submissions must include two references and two letters of recommendation, as well as a 500-word student essay highlighting professional aspirations and scholarship need. A single application is sufficient for all three awards. All required materials must be submitted for an application to be complete. Only completed applications will be considered.
