Island Institute Scholarship

Resident of Maine's fifteen year-round unbridged island communities, currently enrolled in or have graduated from the highest grade level available at your island school. (Chebeague, Cliff, Great Diamond, Long, Peaks, Frenchboro, Great Cranberry, Islesford, Swan's, Isle au Haut, Islesboro, Matinicus, Monhegan, North Haven, Vinalhaven.)

High school juniors are invited to apply to our MAP (Mentoring, Access, and Persistence) Program.

High school seniors and current college students should apply to the Maine Island Scholarship Renewal.
Scholarship Amount: Varies -- roughly $500/year, renewable for up to four years of undergraduate education.

Applications for both MAP and the Maine Island Scholarship Renewal will be available on the Community Development page of the Island Institute’s website, under Scholarships and Transition Support:

This scholarship is awarded between December 1 – February 28, after a review of applications.
