Eligibility Requirements
Open to graduating high school seniors interested in pursuing a communications-related field and accepted to attend an accredited Maine college or university, and to college students currently enrolled in such a program and continuing their college education. Applicants must plan to pursue a major in an accredited communications program including public relations, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, advertising, or related communications areas. Eligible students must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application. These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement, career aspirations, and relevant course, volunteer, or work experience in a communications-related field.Application Process
Eligible students must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time of application, and must be a graduating high school senior or a student enrolled at an accredited Maine college or university. Applicants must also plan to pursue a major in an accredited communications program including public relations, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, advertising, or related communications areas. Submissions must include two references and two letters of recommendation, as well as a 500-word student essay highlighting professional aspirations and scholarship need. A single application is sufficient for all three awards.
Scholarship applications will be judged on criteria pertaining to career goals, financial need, any correlated work and volunteer experience, as well as overall professionalism. Successful applicants should also provide insight into their character and strengths.
The deadline for submissions for the 2026-27 academic year is May 29, 2026. Monetary awards will be made directly to the institution on behalf of the student and are to be applied to that student’s tuition costs the following year.
