Working with Students with Challenging Circumstances

Date/Time
Date(s) - Wednesday May 10, 2023
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Location
Online

We’ve all worked with students whose situation doesn’t fit into a neat box. The FAFSA accommodates many of these situations and we’ll start by discussing the situations that are already built into the FAFSA. We’ll then focus on some of the many changes coming to the FAFSA form that will make it easier for students who face certain challenges, including those who are homeless or where there is no contact with the parent or contact poses a risk to the student. Additionally, we’ll share recent guidance from the Department of Education that provides colleges and universities with more flexibility when working with students who face these challenging circumstances.
