Supporting New Mainers – How FAME Can Help

Date/Time
Date(s) - Wednesday February 8, 2023
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

New Mainers are critical to the success of the Maine economy. Unfortunately, many new Mainers face unique challenges and obstacles when pursuing education and training or attempting to move into the workforce. In some cases, students aren’t eligible for federal student aid, making it challenging to cover the cost of their desired education. Other individuals have a credential from a foreign country but cannot put it to use due to the cost of a credential evaluation. These are just two of the many scenarios new Mainers may encounter. In this webinar, we’ll share a tool to help determine whether a student is eligible for federal student aid and share resources available to support new Mainers regardless of their citizenship status.
