Maine Health Professions Loan Forgiveness

Maine Health Professions Loan recipients with an initial loan made prior to January 1, 2011 may be granted loan forgiveness.

The rate of forgiveness is based on location and type of practice and/or population served. Maine Health Professions Loans, plus interest, must be repaid if a loan recipient is not an eligible practitioner (such as a physician, general dentist, or veterinarian) or practices outside of Maine.

More information about forgiveness eligibility can be found in the Maine Health Professions Loan Program brochure for Initial Loan Prior to January 1, 2011.
