Get a LifeGet A Life Wheel

FAME’s "Get a Life" game is an interactive financial literacy game created primarily for middle school and high school students.  Through this game, students learn about potential career options, college aspirations and financial education; including budgeting, wants vs. needs and making choices.

When played in the classroom, each student is randomly assigned an individual game piece representing a specific career, college degree and monthly salary. Students are then asked to complete a monthly budget worksheet which includes both required and optional living expenses.  Through this process, students quickly realize that higher education leads to higher paying jobs, in turn making their personal financial decisions much easier to navigate.

Most importantly, “Get a Life” encourages conversation among students regarding career goals and aspirations, while emphasizing the importance of making the right choices in order to have as many options in life as possible.

“Get a Life” is offered in-person through FAME’s College Access and Financial Education Team, or the electronic version can be played independently within the classroom.  To request “Get a Life” to be offered at your school, please contact education@famemaine.com.
