With the NextGen Plan's menu of investment options, you have the flexibility to choose an investment strategy that makes sense for your individual situation. Whether you are investing for the future education of a newborn child or your own graduate school needs, the NextGen Plan offers a wide selection of investment alternatives for you - from conservative to aggressive. NextGen offers the Client Select Series and the Client Direct Series, each with different investment options and expenses.
The NextGen Client Select Series is offered to investors who are looking for a broader choice of investment options than offered through the NextGen Client Direct Series and who seek professional advice from a financial advisor.
The Client Select Series offers multiple investment options including portfolios currently offered by Allianz Global Investors Solutions LLC, BlackRock Investment Management LLC, Eaton Vance Management, Franklin Templeton Investments, Massachusetts Financial Services Company (MFS), New York Life Investment Management LLC (MainStay), Thornburg Investment Management, Inc., and the NextGen Savings and Principal Plus Portfolios. The Client Select Series offers different unit classes, each with a different fee and expense structure.
The Client Select Series portfolios are offered through Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors and certain financial advisors located in Maine.
The NextGen Client Direct Series is available for self-directed investors – those who do not seek professional advice about choosing among the available NextGen investment portfolios.
The Client Direct Series consists of many investment choices, including portfolios currently offered by BlackRock Investment Management LLC (including iShares), Franklin Templeton Investments, Massachusetts Financial Services Company (MFS) and the NextGen Savings and Principal Plus Portfolios.
There are many participating Maine banks where you can pick up a free NextGen Client Direct Series enrollment kit. You may also enroll online, download a Client Direct Series enrollment kit or request one be mailed to you from FAME.
