Studies

Northern Maine Biomass-to-Ethanol Facility Study
The Agricultural Products Utilization Commission, staffed by FAME, recently completed a pre-feasibility study on bioethanol production in Maine. This study provides information on the feasibility of establishing a biomass-to-ethanol facility in Northern Maine and identifies those factors that drive project feasibility. Northern Maine Transmission Corporation
The Northern Maine Transmission Corporation, an independent subsidiary of the Finance Authority of Maine, has completed its study of the feasibility of a northern Maine interconnection to the U.S. electrical transmission grid. The Report has been formally forwarded to the State Legislature's Joint Standing Committee on Utilities and Energy.

The Report concludes that although an interconnection is technically feasible, it may not be economically practical in the near future.
