FAME has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant. This is an opportunity to have an active role on a dynamic accounting team working daily with complex financial situations.

Responsibilities include a focus on accounts payable and payroll preparation and administration. Other duties may include preparing and posting general and standard journal entries for multiple governmental funds; reconciling bank accounts; reconciling various general ledger accounts; working with outside service providers to obtain and track information, assure timely processing, and resolve issues; preparing monthly management reports; assisting in the Authority’s annual audits; assisting with gathering and entering the Authority’s annual budget into the accounting software; and providing backup services to other accounting staff.

The position requires a minimum two-year college degree in Business Administration or Accounting plus three or more years work experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable and/or payroll or a related field. A minimum five to seven years of related work experience may be substituted for a degree.

Experience with accounting software, spreadsheets and word processing (preferably Microsoft Office programs) is required. Experience in loan and grant accounting is preferred.

Credit Analyst II

FAME seeks a seasoned individual to fill the position of Credit Analyst II. Responsibilities include providing underwriting support for our commercial programs in accordance with loan policy. The Credit Analyst II analyzes all aspects of credit, negotiates with lenders and properly structures the Authority’s commitments, prepares reports on findings, and makes recommendations for action.
The position requires a four-year degree in a related field; a minimum of two years of related work experience, preferably in commercial lending; knowledge of credit and lending criteria and loan operations; knowledge of accounting principles; and the ability to communicate effectively. Extensive working knowledge of Excel is required; must also have Microsoft Word skills.
